Kassandra is the first out three peninsulas of Halkidiki which run into the Aegean Sea. Its ancient name was Pallene and represents many centuries of history as rest of Greece. We jumpstart our excursion early morning by picking you up from you hotel. After approx. 45 minutes driving we are entering Halkidiki region and our very first stop is Potidea. An ancient city founded by Corinthians around 600 BC. Potidea is built at the narrowest point of the peninsula so a canal was opened around 100 AD to facilitate navigation and trade. Having a 30 minutes visit to the ancient Potidea and the canal we proceed to our next stop.
Nea Fokea is a seaside picturesque village with a great history as well along with the well preserved byzantine tower of Saint Pavlos. Plenty of cultural events are held here during summer and the nearby beaches are really awesome.
Fourka beach is our next stop for lunch or quick coffee and snacks just in front of the sea. Fourka beach is one of the best and surely deserves a quick swill as well. Following the scenic road by the sandy beaches and often pulling over for amazing photo and selfies, we reach Agia Paraskevi spa resort. Located on a high cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea, it is a unique thermal baths center providing a series of health and wellness services to its visitors. The nearby picturesque village of Loutra is full of traditional Greek taverns offering a great variety of fresh fish along with the incredible view of the dark blue sea.
From there we head to Paliouri and shortly we reach this village and we continue on to the most southeastern tip of Kassandra Peninsula, the Kanistro. The location is just amazing. We take our time at the beach or nearby coffee shops and admire the breathtaking view to the sea.
On our way back we enjoy the scenic road and the great vistas of the sea and also may have quick stops at seaside villages like Pefkohori and Polihrono. Sithonia private tours.
Sithonia is geographically located in between the other two Halkidiki peninsulas Kassandra and Athos. It also represents many centuries of history as the rest of Greece and also mentioned in the writings of the great ancient Greek historian Thucydides. Mountain Itamos is located at the center of Sithonia providing a really unique combination of mountain slopes with sandy beaches. Sithonia landscape is covered with vineyards, forests, grasslands, shrub land and hills. It is a top location for those who enjoy nature, love tranquility and prefer outdoor activities.

Driving on a narrow scenic through a pine forest by the sea, for half an hour or so we reach Nikiti. It is a seaside town well known for olive oil production, beekeeping and of course the fish taverns just in from of the sea. Here you may taste the world known big green Halkidiki olives and excellent pure honey.
Our next destinations is the town of Neos Marmaras a small town on the edge of the peninsula of Sithonia. It is built on three hills, at the Itamos Mountain at 1924 also by Greek refugees from Asia Minor. It is well known for its natural beauty, incredible beaches, fresh fish and the famous Port Carras resort. It is the absolutely perfect combination of sea and mountains. From there we head to Port Koufo, a fishermen village located at one of the most amazing natural ports of Greece. This small and well-hidden port was used by Germans during World War 2 as their submarine base. Great fish taverns with the most fresh fishes and seafood.
Following the scenic road among the forest pine and the sandy beaches we pass by amazing locations with great views. Our next step is Vourvourou, another seaside village but surely the most amazing from them all. Its crystal clear beaches along with a complex of small islands form a blue lagoon, making Vourvourou a great attraction for summer holidays.
We proceed to Panagia Ormos, a nearby port and a starting point for Mount Athos boat cruises. Then we visit another amazing beach with breathtaking view and a great chance for photos and selfies.

We continue our drive through trees and wild flowers and just in case you already missed the sea views we may climb down for a while to visit Stratoni, a seaside village with a great, long and sandy beach. Our next destination is Ouranoupoli (Greek meaning the city of heaven) which is a frontier town to Mount Athos monasteries region. Visiting Mount Athos peninsula is strictly prohibited for women while men need to get a permit. It is a lively seaside town with plenty of seafront fish taverns and souvenir shops.
Once again we head to the mountain and our next stop is at Aristotle theme park at modern Stagira. It is located in a most beautiful area with a marvelous view towards the Gulf of Ierissos and the whole peninsula of Athos. It includes a series of interesting instruments which when used properly will show the phenomena of nature as studied by the great Greek philosopher.
Following the scenic road among high trees and colorful plants we reach the town of Arnea, a place of great history and tradition. Its typical rock build houses and narrow streets represent Greek tradition at its best. Surely worth it to make a stop visiting the Historical and Folklore museum or simply taste local recipes.
