Our tour starts at 9:00 AM while picking you up from your hotel or AirBnB anywhere at Thessaloniki city center. As our drive will take us about an hour to Naoussa Mieza, we make a quick stop for coffee and beverages. Plenty of commentary on Alexander’s adventurous life along the way and photo stops if required.
We depart at Mieza Nymfeon, a historical location of great natural beauty where Aristotle’s school was located. The most well-known student of Aristotle the great philosopher was surely Alexander the Great. He spend 3 years at this location, getting high level education by his teacher on Mathematics, Philosophy, History and Geography.
We proceed to Vergina, the most significant archaeological site of Northern Greece. We visit the royal tombs of King Phillip the 2nd father of Alexander and of Alexander the 4th, son of Alexander and Roxane. Certified tour guide and expert on Macedonian tombs, available upon request and at extra charge. We also visit the museum and admire the legacy and wealth of Macedonian Kingdome. Free time available for coffee or a quick snack.
We continue our private tour to Pella, the ancient capital City of Macedonian Empire and visit the archaeological site and the museum if required. Both Vergina and Pella locations reveal plenty of information on Macedonian glory and everyday life as well.
Plenty of photo stops at breath taking views. Our tour is really flexible and maybe altered as per your requirements. Round noon, we start our way back to Thessaloniki. Our next destination is a nearby Thessaloniki village, where we may have lunch, tasting authentic traditional Greek recipes. We then proceed to Thessaloniki seafront and visit Alexander’s statue where we enjoy the sea breeze and sunset. Plenty of photos is a must. Drop off at hotel-end of service.
